Winter Illuminations 2016 - 2017

Winter Illumination is one of the most romantic events in winter of Japan to dress up the streets and buildings with thousands of sparkling light bulbs.

This year is the 15th anniversary of the Marunouchi illumination. The entire district along Naka-Dori street and Tokyo station-Marunouchi station building will be lit and dressed with Champaign gold LED lights.

Tokyo Midtown located in Roppongi is a commercial complex including shops, restaurants, offices, luxury hotels, green space and museums. Yebisu Garden Place is a city within a city, which has been a symbol of Ebisu and known for Christmas illuminations. Ebisu Garden Place becomes busy with family and couples coming to see the sparkling illuminations as getting close to Christmas seasons. The Christmas tree which shows up in the clock square is 10 meters high. "Baccarat ETERNAL LIGHTS" has been a popular annual event in Ebisu. The world's largest chandeliers by Baccarat which just celebrated the 250th anniversary are so amazing that you cannot forget for years.

More than 100 Japanese Zelkova trees are lit up with about half a million of Champaign Gold-colored LED for a month. The illumination of Japanese Zelkova Avenue lasts for about 500 meters long and attracts people every year.

The Decks Odaiba shopping center presents illuminations around the year, including the "Daiba Memorial Tree". "Odaiba Illumination 'YAKEI'" lights up 40 trees running a length of 200m and a height of 20m, plus a participatory outdoor 360ºprojection system. Approximately 280,000 lights of the illumination are spread around the Shinjuku Terrace City, especially on the Shinjuku Southern Terrace, located in the south of JR Shinjuku Station. The collaboration of 6 different colors of lights and the music brings up the Christmas mood.

Toshimaen displays a mysterious illumination show, called "Magical Illumination", with 1,730,000 LED lights collaborated with music.
As a special illumination event, the performance of special fireworks and flames is also held. The special fireworks and flames are performed dynamically in front of the 10 meter high "Big Wall" illumination with music.
Restaurants and snack stands are open in the evening during illumination period, so you can enjoy the illumination with warm food and drink.
