Hi there,

I am going to have holiday in Tokyo for 4 days. So, I don't buy JR Pass. But I want to go to Shirakawa-go from Tokyo. I am planning to go there in Jan 18th 2016 then go to Mount Fuji in Jan 19th 2016. Can you give me recommendation of transportation about going to Shirakawa-go from Tokyo and from Shirakawa-go to Mount Fuji without buying JR Pass? I extremely need help.

Hi.
I think the best way to go to Shirakawago from Tokyo is;

1. Take a Hokuriku Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kanazawa.
2. Get on a Nohi Bus from Kanazawa to Shirakawago.

As for the transportaion between Shirakawago and Kawaguchiko(Mt. Fuji);

(Reccommended way if stopping by at Takayama)
1. Take a Nohi Bus from Shirakawago to Takayama.
2. Take another Nohi Bus from Takayama to Matsumoto.
3. Take a JR(train) from Matsumoto sta. to Kofu sta.
4. Take a bus from Kofu sta. to Kawaguchiko(Mt. Fuji area).

(Reccommended way if not stopping by at Takayama)

1. Take a Gifu Bus from Shirakawago to Nagoya.

2. Take a shinkansen from Nagoya to Mishima.
3. Take a bus from Mishima to Kawaguchiko.
