Regarding to your additional question;

As you've found, there's no way to take you directly from Narita to Mt.Fuji unfortunately...

I think, there still are some ways to get Fuji-san, but the Narita express would the best choice because it will take you to Shinjuku Station - it means you'll have many options (ex. buses or trains) , less traffic changes.
If you take other trains with more traffic changes, it'll save only a few mins.

Tokyo's traffics are reeeeeeeally complicated even for the locals.
So I recommend you to take easier way as much as possible for you.

Enjoy, and don't get lost! ;)

1. From Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko, it is best to take a expressway bus. Please check the following for details.

4. Some of the pass I was talking in No.2 covers the tickets from Tokyo to Kawaguchiko. Hakone Freepass covers the tickets from Shinjuku to Hakone Yumoto on Odakyu Line.

I wish you a wonderful trip in Mount Fuji Area!
