I'm planning tatayama alpine route trip start on 18 April from morning from dentetsu Toyama . Expected to arrive shinon-omiya station at 4:00- 4:30 and depart to Matsumoto by train . Looking for the best route from Matsumoto to kawaguchiko station either bus or train . Is it possible to travel from Matsumoto to kawaguchiko at the same day? I don't have JR pass.

You can just buy a ticket in mastumoto station, no need JR pass. And it takes like around 4 hours. I think you wont have much time for sightseeing if you go on the day time. I suggest you go on the early morning. You can check the time on the above link.
