If you have a Fuji Hakone Pass, you cannot book a seat online because you cannot reserve a seat without payment.
Please purchase the ticket at the bus terminal.

There are a lot of buses running between Shinjuku and Kawaguchiko, so you should be able to buy the ticket on the day of travel.
